Krickenbeck Lakes
The nature reserve Krickenbeck Lakes is one of the largest in North Rhine-Westphalia and is recommended both for hikers and cyclists. Here you can find remnants of the old North Canal from the Napoleonic period. It was supposed to form a link between the rivers Rhine and Meuse, but it was never completed.

Neighboring Municipality of Grefrath

A popular excursion destination in the neighboring municipality of Grefrath is the Niederrheinische Freilichtmuseum with a varied year-round event offer. In this wide area you will find restored, rebuilt half-timbered houses and a toy museum. The central focus is the former Wasserschloss Dorenburg.
